It’s time to talk about the greatly anticipated Freeplay mode. Freeplay is a separate game mode that combines elements of the story, the conflict between players and survival in a hostile world. Players will be able to perform tasks for factions, participate in random events and explore the map in search of valuable items. In Freeplay, players only have one-life and death can come at every turn. One careless step and your character will return to the game lobby and all you’ve found will remain near your dead body. Players are going to choose the style of the game: some players may want to stay alive as long as possible; others attempt to gain as many items as possible and successfully leave the location alive.

"In addition around the map you can find items that will give you money, experience, and reputation but only if the player is able to leave the map carrying them. If killed all items carried by a player are dropped and can be picked up by another player."

I have several questions over this:
1) So does this mean that we will not be able to find any weapons, armors, or consumables throughout freeplay?
2) When it says "all items" does it mean we'll drop the items that we have found in freeplay or all your weapons and armors?
3) If the question above is all of the weapons and armors then will there be a separate character for freeplay and pvp modes?

Where does it say/imply that? I imagine you will, but they will be rare.

This has been answered many, many times over the years since Survarium's announcement. The answer is no, only the items you found during that session are lost; those you brought with you when you started will be kept. It would kill player progression for newer players if you lost some of your gear every time you die.

Afaik, the characters are shared between modes, equipment and all.

what a phantastic preview, well done vostok games! :-)

I am confused how big the world map must be; or will there be "copies" of square A1 of the map to make sure not too many players possibly encounter/meet each other?

Is the map shown on the pictures an extension of one of the current maps or is it a seperate part? (I'm guessing it is an extension of something like Chemical Facility or Radar Station, but I'm doubting)

I like the idea of "counter contacts" and karma. I hope they will be able to answer the age old question of "what constitutes as a justified kill". Can anyone on the know elaborate on this, or is it still too early to say?

A justified kill would be you having to protect a camp and the other guy to attack it, in that case you'll be allowed to kill him (without karma loss).

I do have a feeling that all this PVP is going to make a lot of players very trigger happy when they eventually get into freeplay. We'll see about that.

i dont think there will be a freepaly test any time soon , maybe 9 months later

Well this news is a relief.

Though I guess I'm still looking forward to doing the TT-33 hardmode, just for fun of course.
