Chemical Plant

This is the place to discuss the game locations, as they are known to the current Survivors.

The chemical plant named after Vladimir Lenin, once used to be a vivid example of the Soviet Union's industrial might. For decades the plant was involved in the production of mineral fertilizers for agricultural use and, ironically, it is this very location that was selected as the industrial base for the production of the herbicide designed to stop the spread of the Forest.

I never considered that there might be a basement. It could be an interesting flanking route, since the yard looks like a real shooting gallery with all the elevated walkways and windows.

Personally, this is the location that I'm looking forward to the most. I always find industrial settings interesting in games, as there's usually a lot of intricacies in the environment with pipes, machinery and walkways crossing everywhere.

this place is great for bringing back the good old Lab X feeling from Stalker. dark corridors and service tunnels filled with mutants. scary echos, weird lights at night and many, many kinds of deadly hazards from the chemicals and old abandoned machinery. the chemical processes themselves can turn into anomalies - temperature changes, pressure/vacuum traps, crystallization + liquefaction processes...

imagine the horrors that this place can give birth to :) a complete treasure trove for artifact hunters though.

I bet that bandits often hang out there and lure innocent artifact hunters to their death

Was this inspired by the Freedom/Bandit base in the Dark Valley from Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky?

Not at all. Just because of one similar structure people think it is related. There is a lot more to the map than that one, broken, bridge.

I like the style of this map. Im really looking forward to this game and to see how did the devs imagined it to be.

Also i have a question if thers gonna be night/day cycle on maps, will there be some awesome weather effects like storms, rain, fog and stuff like that? I mentioned this on ideas for survarium and im hoping game engine will support this or not? If you cant answar i understand its work in progres :).

Vostok Games FAQ:Q: Will there be a day/night cycle and changing of the seasons?
A: There's alternation of day and night, and it will significantly affect the gameplay. There's no changing of the seasons.

Yeah.. it's very symbolic though, much of us found survarium because of stalker, so don't be too surprised that a lot of people bring up a lot of stalker related material that may look like it's in the game. Looking forward to see the game! Hopefully in a month you can release more pictures of the chemical plant ^_^. -Star
