0.46 will be tested on the PTS like all preview updates :)

I may be back in business but I dont know right now :P

Question : Does the base FOV change? For example from 65 to 90 (overextended example) or is it still the same?

*Still asking for a FOV slider*

HO YEAH!
The one thing that was keeping me from using my XMas M4A1 I slaved days getting was because I couldn't see through the sights! Hopefully I will be able to see around me when aiming with my other guns now, too.

A FOV slider is a great idea, I'd get behind that! Is that a possibility in the future?

I'll be blunt, I don't think it'll "fix" ironsights, but I'd love to have a more realistic view on weapons I'm holding, not disorted view where barrel of gun "shrinks and disappears into horizon".

Maybe have weapon turn semi transparent when using sights, so there are no blind spots. Or zoom in even more instead.

You want more realism but at the same time a transparent weapon? Also, only once the new FOV has been implemented can one truly judge its appeal or lack thereof.

I'm up to compromises if it improves gameplay.
Well, I have used iron sights and this is the core problem I have when using them - I can't aim for headshots, because by doing so recoil shakes causes enemy to keep flicking into the blindspot below iron sights. Also enemy have chance to suddenly "disappear" from my screen when aiming high, caused by either enemy crouching or running into "trench". I think that the blindspot created by ironsights right below center of crosshair is a huge disadvantage when it comes to aiming, because it makes it unviable to go for headshots and even makes aiming high problematic.

No weapon transparency...that would really break the feel of the game.

I think you have it mixed up.
Having a semi transparent weapon would break the immersion more then anything

That's what I'm saying, hence the ellipsis in between the two parts.

Weapon transparency is bad.

Not to poop on your party, but when you're looking through ironsights in real life, the rear sight is somewhat 'blurred' and you can essentially 'see through it' in a sense.

I think what he means is, the game deserves MUCH less intrusive irons. Like this: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/cal ... 1103150645

That's called [weapon] depth of field. In BF4 it's available as an option. I agree that we should have something like this in Survarium.

Yes, but this is not possible to accurately duplicate from a single viewport. "depth of field" duplicates a singular aspect from it and that is that due to your right eye being focused on the front post, and your left eye on your target, the rear post becomes blurred as a result. Though in most games it is seen as more annoying than anything else, because, again, we are looking at it from a single viewport, so it doesn't come across as natural. In order to accurately duplicate what you guys are suggestion, you need 2 viewports, aka a VR headset

By this you mean that one your eye focuses on front sight and the second one on the target? Well, I dont think many creatures have ability like this :-D You focus on one distance and everything else is blurred. When aim firing, you focus on the front sight and both rear sight and the target are blurred (you can of course use another technicque, this is supposed to be most precise). And btw you have one dominant eye that you follow, the rest is just peripheral vision.

I think this is a huge step in the right direction!!
I have thought to myself many times how one could even get the sights this close to your eye, As if one would fire a real weapon you wouldn't thrust your head 3 decimeters toward the barrel of the gun just to aim as the majority of the sights look now, but i'm sure this will make the game a lot better and add more feeling to weapon handling!

I am very excited about this and i think that the game has made somewhat decent progress in the past couple of months!
Keep it up Vostok! only thing i'm waiting for now is some sneakpeeks on freeplay!
