There is some kind of anti-cheat or anti-bot for the game? free 2 play games bring alots of chinese junk

My question was in regards to cheats as well.

I am a long time free2play gamer, and the bane of the free2play model is hack use, as it is by far the hardest of all games-types to control and combat. This is coming from many years experience not only playing free2play games, but both working and volunteering for games in the past.

Simply put, it's hard to combat hack use in free2play games for the very fact they are free, they are not afforded the same protections as retail games since bans carry little to no weight. All you have to do is create a new account and carry on cheating. So in the end, free2play developers are left having to not only ban offending players, but constantly fighting to block the hacks that are also constantly updated to bypass the blocks.

The best assistance a game can have in this fight, besides dedicated GM's or "ninja moderators" to police the game and ban hack users in real-time, is an anti-cheat engine.

I guess my question is, other than the moderation and karma system spoke about in the FAQ, what other steps are being considered to keep the game as free as possible of hack users?

Is in the game you will be able to crawl? Sniper without crawling isn`t a sniper.

One reoccurring theme i have enjoyed in other video games is mind control. Will we see anything along these lines in Survarium?

Players cannot officially join factions, however clans can form alliances with them.

By doing some missions and quests for factions you gain reputation, thus unlocking weapons and equipment to buy from them.

There wont be any form of transport, Joe Mullin answered this one somewhere already but i dont remember where exactly.


EDIT: Do you plan to implement weapons other than Russian, like British, US, German, French, Chinese and so on?

What ideas from the forum have you adopted or will consider adopting?

Do you plan on developing closer developer/community relations (e.g. begin pursuing an active discussion of ideas proposed by the community, stating whether these ideas are being used or not etc.)?

I mean after players learn how anomalies work on certain places they wont be a challenge.

I guess it's because it's such a normal word, it doesn't have the same extreme connotations that words like "emission" or "blowout" have.

The description sounds much better though, "radioactive dust is already swirling on the ground, electrostatic discharges are crackling in the air, devices malfunction."

Thanks for taking the time to answer more questions. I have a few questions about Survarium and the Vostok Engine, any answers are appreciated, thanks again.


1) Does the engine use deferred shading? In video there seems to be quite a bit of aliasing but in the screenshots everything seems perfect.


2) Will the game have dynamic clouds? Weather was a big part of the atmosphere in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, the only downside were the crossfading static skyboxes. Something like the clouds from Skyrim is one example that would greatly improve the atmosphere.


3) Will there be larger "free-roam sized" maps? The areas shown so far look great but seem to be a bit small. If not, is it a design decision or an engine limitation?


4) Will the characters have "bodies" in first person view? Meaning, when you look down will you see your legs?


5) Will plant life / foliage be "interactive" or move around as you walk near it / over it, like in Crysis or ARMA?


6) Will the game have advanced configuration options or will they be streamlined and placed in generalized tiers like in Metro 2033?

Already answered. We will be using state of the art anti-cheat software and constantly upgrading it.

Already answered. No, players cannot join factions. You can make your own clan.
