Leszy, not some "goblin"!

Do you have an idea that could improve Survarium? Let us know here.

In the Russian version of Survarium there is an armour that is called "Леший" (read: Lyeshiy). In Ukrainian they call the same outfit "Лісовик" (read: Lisovyk). Even in the English language version they refer to it as "Leshy". But what did they call this jacket and trousers in the Polish version? "Goblin"... Who on earth translated this?! Leshy is a spirit from Slavic mythology that is well known in Poland exactly as "Leszy" (read: Leshy), but also under the names: "borowy", "gajowy", "leśnik", "leśny dziad", "boruta", or "laskowiec". Why change the name completely and get rid of the reference to folklore that most Poles are actually familiar with? Instead we have something completely different - something that references Northwestern European mythology (since goblins are primarily associated with British and Scandinavian folk beliefs). I would not have anything against this "goblin" if it was for any other apparel, but if it's originally called Leshy anyway then why is it different for the Polish version?

I appeal for a name change of this armour in the Polish version from "Goblin" to "Leszy". This title is much closer to the other language versions of Survarium, yet at the same time it does not require any strange borrowings from other languages since the word "leszy" already exists in the Polish native tongue anyway. If the translator did not select this name due to some personal reason because he/she did not like the word "leszy", then he/she could still have chosen any of the aforementioned names (borowy, gajowy, leśnik, leśny dziad, boruta, laskowiec, etc.). And if someone thinks that leshy is not known in Poland, I recommend they play the most famous Polish production "Wiedźmin 3: Dziki Gon" (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), which features a monster carrying this very name. :P

I posted this in English as well because many Polish fans also check other language versions of the forum, plus I'm not sure how much attention the developers give to the Polish website when compared with the English one (understandably, since English is much more widely spoken than Polish). It would be great if anyone who supports this change leaves a comment in this thread (regardless of which version of Survarium you play, I'm sure you can understand the reasoning behind this suggestion and it's such a small change that could be added along with the next patch that there is no reason to oppose it). :)

Not playing the Polish version (because I don't speak Polish), but I see no reason why I shouldn't support your request. Shouldn't be so much work either.

I apologize in advance for my English. However, I would like a few comments on translating names in the ranks of factional. Firstly, the scavengers have two rank "Zaprawiony" and "Weteran". For this on the black market we have two centurions 4 and 8 tier. It is proposed to change the 4 centurion on dekuriona.
As for the scavengers to propose such a solution.

Rookie/Nowicjusz -> Żółtodziób
Survivor/Sprawdzony ->Ocalały
Trusted/Doświadczony ->Sprawdzony
Fighter/Zaprawiony ->Zaprawiony*
Experienced/Weteran ->Doświadczony
Die Hard/Zaprawiony ->Zatwardziały/Zagorzały
Veteran/Weteran ->Weteran
Expert/Ekspert -> Ekspert
Hero/Bohater ->Bohater
Legend/Legenda ->Legenda

*(właściwa nazwa to by była bojownik, ale taka ranga jest na czarnym rynku więc proponuje taką)(proper name that would be a fighter, but this rank is on the black market so proposes such)

Any Polish users who don't check the Polish forum as often, you can also support my and Szlam's ideas here: https://eu.survarium.com/forum/eu-pl/vi ... f=13&t=489

Last time I checked in-game after the recent update, the translation is still rubbish. Please keep this thread alive so that a dev or mod notices it... something as simple to implement as this shouldn't be ignored. :(

It's fairly easy to support a request that doesn't affect gaming experience for oneself. ;)
But I guess it would be easier to get a couple people from Polish community to send a mail to Joe asking for this (in my eyes) rather small favor. And don't lose heart. While it is probably a thing done in a couple minutes by a professional, it's probably low in urgency for the devs.
Still, good luck with your effort.

Furthermore, I'm of the opinion that we need more information about Free-Play mode.

Chandrian said that the spanish translation is pretty bad too and VG said that they fixed some bugs on localization files. I think that they use google translate.

You can try to email Joe and ask him to share it with the translator(s). Other issues with the localization can also be shared with Joe.
