Locations/Regions you'd like to see in survarium?

Do you have an idea that could improve Survarium? Let us know here.

Excellent. I can't tell you a correct ETA. As I said, I am very tied-down to my workplace at the moment, but I have few locations scouted for taking photos, so when I get the time - I will make and send the materials. Thank you. I presume Video Material would also be a good addition. That can happen as well.

I have an idea here...If some of you guys here live in South East Asian region, especially Western Malaysia, Singapore, or Western Indonesia (Sumatra Is.), I guess you are already familiar with the current problem in Riau, Indonesia. Yes, 2 months with no rain, and the sun keeps shining all day, and then started a forest fire. This disaster has affected about 6 million citizens living in Riau.

http://cdn.kaskus.com/images/2014/03/13 ... 075925.jpg

The links above will redirect you to two pictures of Riau's condition right now (more at the link below). From reports I've seen in local forums and Facebook posts, they say that the PSI level in Riau is about 1200, which has exceeded the Hazardous level by 900 PSI (Well, I don't know if that kind of PSI level actually makes sense or not). The extremely high PSI scale has made Riau very unsafe to live in.

Well, I think this might be baseless and not understandable...But I want to suggest this as one of the locations in Survarium, where the location is filled with thick smoke, which causes visibility to be very low.

Extra source (I found a gallery of the area condition in Riau in the first spoiler) : http://www.kaskus.co.id/thread/53219b1e20cb1789728b4573

Maybe Siberia, because it would be a region with fewer animals/mutants, a harsh climate, and unusual anomalies as it a a strange and harsh environment, and there could be toxic snow etc.

Pripyat, Chernobyl NPP, Chernobyl (city). Those and perhaps other locations in the Chernobyl Exclusion zone.

I also had the idea of another couple of locations, one being Centralia, Pennsylvania, which fits the game, due to the underground coal fires. The second the abandoned Taiwan pod houses/hotel location, I think it would give a really eerie feeling as a location.

I had some more ideas. Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania. Another is Area 51 in Nevada. Perhaps oil refineries along the US gulf coast or in the Middle East or in Alaska or Russia. Another option would be Varosha in Cyprus, since it's already a ghost city, it would make a good location (same for the Cyprus's capital's international airport as another location).

Gulag Camp In Moma:
http://www.russiaslam.com/2013/pictures ... years.html

Vinča research facility in Serbia (I posted this and my post got dissapeared... Anyone?)
It is a big facility, good possibilities for background story, and great layout for a shooter game. Indoor can be equipped with russian-like devices since it had been like that in some point of time and maybe now.

If any of the dev's find this idea intriguing, tell me - so I can search for more data and organize it in usefull manner. I will be glad to.

There's buildings, equipment, bushes, roads... a very useful setup. There's so much possibilities for a story. Nuclear waste (They transported a lot of it to Russia - but that is a good story, accident during the move), Misplaced Uranium (Actually Happened - type "Vinča Misplaced Uranium" @google.com), Particle Accelerator accident...

I would like to see Pripyat marshlands filled with plants and such, you know like the disaster would fix the atomic explosion's effects. I think it would make this Armageddon more foggy, and would bring up more questions!

I could just imagine strolling through very green marshes with clear blue water taking in all the landscape and then having the need to rush to cover due to shots being fired in your direction. To twist it up a little, for the ecological disaster to have it's roll in the map; it'd be nice to see a few large plants and maybe some huts that are in a ruined state with branches coming out of random parts.

I think Finland should make a perfect location for a "snow survival scenario".
Harsh and cold environment, where your spit freezes in the air... Players would have to work on with trying to find artefacts while snowy, cold winds blow and make your bones chill and hands freeze...And then, all of a sudden, after a long and cold trip, you discover an artefact near a rocky, snowy cliff..

BUT..You discover something else too...ANOTHER PLAYER; So starts the pvp combat where artefact gleams in each others eyes, but the cold decreases the madness for treasures, and after a while of combat, both are freezing and just want to make it out alive...

But then, suddenly a mutated, very agile Lynx appears at the scene, and suddenly attacks your opponent, while you sneak out alive...Fate..? Or just luck..?...You didn't get the artefact, but at least you got out alive...

Then, after a cold trip to the forest areas, you stumble upon your very own safe place, an abandoned shack near a road. You walk in, light a campfire with your last match, to save your fingers and toes from falling off because of freezing temperatures.

Then, you open your backbag, take a calendar: You see the day is Saturday. Then you throw the calendar away since that wasn't what you were searching for anyway...

BINGO! You find a can of beans (your last one, since you can't buy any, cause no one will sell and you don't have the money, since you lost the artefact you sought for) and open it up. You start to eat in joy: Harsh conditions make people appreciate every little bit of comfort and food.

And when you eat the last, lonely bean inside the can, you come into a thought "But HOW on earth will I survive to the next week?"

Well...That was the story I just made up in a couple of minutes..I think Lapland would have lots of potential in creating the perfect mood for survival in cold terrains. What do you think, guys & girls?

Id like to see like a big catholic church. maybe with some smashed pews, shattered glass, flickering lights, blood smeared on the ground leaving a trail to the basement of the church or something, maybe like a lab under it hinting that the priest was experimenting on people. and maybe words on the wall saying "the time is now!"

What about a desert or a canyon, like Arizona? It would be interesting to see how the Green Apocalypse has affected these sorts of biomes. Huge cacti, maybe!

And how about Miami Beach, Florida? This place where so many people used to go on vacation can be very atmospheric when seen destroyed or dilapidated, the manmade grandeur of the buildings stripped away. Miami Beach is expected to be flooded in the next 100 years, so maybe that could be a sort of swamp.

Landmarks would be interesting to see such as The Eiffel tower, The Moscow Kremlin, Big Ben, Maybe the Empire state building with the statue of liberty in sight. It would be great to see what survarium does to these places.

Edit: Golden gate bridge and the Kasan mosque in siberia would be cool too.

This might sound quite mainstream from Lithuanian, but I think Old Town of Vilnius would be awesome place, starting with Gedeminas's Tower, Cathedral.

IMO the game could use another urban map like School and Chemical Plant.
Or something in between!

One side of the map would have a ton of scattered cover while the other side would contain a building lacking or with no windows facing the open area :)

Yeah, maybe something more like an extremely shady religion like from RE4. They'd take over a church in the post-apocalypse and do mutant plant experiments on humans and animals.

Anyway, here are my ideas (I made them so that each area would be abundant of certain necessities while having the obvious risk of anomaly related dangers.):

Venice, Italy - the canal system is now known to be one of the best sources of -drinkable water- although rather risky. Plant growth stems out from the canal floor and is covered with corrosive yet water purifying algae. These algae also grow along the sides of most structures that touch the water making safe spots to collect water uncommon, or even rare. Narrow plants also provide passage over partially sunken structures, and may even provide safe access to water collection spots assuming one has good sense of balance. There would also be lots of passage ways and players could open up root covered doorways with a machete or flamethrower (if a feature is implemented).

Akihabara Tokyo, Japan - once a city famous for being an electronics hub is now a covered in plant-growth and walled settlements where small stalls with neon lights that merchants set up, and for other survivors come together for a quick break. On the outskirts of those settlements are buildings whose collapse is hindered by plant growth, and vines connecting various high and low structures that could be traversed by survivors looking for -electronics- like batteries, or maybe even parts for the radio back at home. Scavengers should also be careful among places with anomalies that appear like hairs of rust forming on old electronics as it could induce sickness akin to Tetanus when touched, or even lead poisoning when the air surrounding it is absorbed without proper protection.

Also, I for one only played one game that at least featured a place in my country so...

Banaue Rice Terraces, Philippines http://www.8thingstodo.com/banaue-rice- ... hilippines - being a rice plantation before the apocalypse, it still retains its stairway-like structure although it is now completely turned into a marshland whose landscape has been warped by gravitational anomalies giving them forms similar to http://stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Fault and http://stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Oakpine_anomaly. Some patches contain rice that grew taller than 6 feet along with harsh fog makes the unprepared vulnerable to ambushes by man, animal, or even plant while passing through or collecting -edible plants- and -artifacts- abundant in the area. Old farmer huts that survived has shaped the plants covering it into small cave-like structures that could contain either small treasures or terrors, and maybe even both seeing that one has the means to fight off the unnaturally intense radiation within these glowing 'huts'. Around 5pm, the glow within the huts become visible and provide landmarks to those traveling within the marshland.

That's all I have for now I guess. Leaving you guys here with this: http://news.distractify.com/culture/art ... the-world/
I hope it could give you cool ideas and stuff.
